How does a potatoes field become one of the most visited sites in Israel? When did a hidden part of Jerusalem become the most excavated site in the world after Pompeii?

On this tour, we will journey through the pages of the bible, witness the rise and fall of key moments that continue to shape the city’s identity today.

• We’ll begin at the City of David, where the foundations of Jerusalem were first laid thousands of years ago.
Here, you’ll discover incredible archaeological findings that bring biblical events to life.

• Optionally, walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel, a 550-meter-long manmade water tunnel that protected the city’s water supply from the approaching enemy.

• We’ll visit the Siloam Pool Excavations, home to the largest ritual bath in Israel.

• Next, we’ll explore Second Temple Period Jerusalem at the Givaty Parking Lot Excavations, where you’ll see the remains of Roman villas and walk through a Roman drainage tunnel.

• We’ll then head to the Ophel Archaeological Park (Davidson Center), where you’ll walk the same monumental steps once ascended by pilgrims on their way to the Temple.

• Finally, we will walk up to the western wall ending the tour there.
